Department of Fundamental and language training provides training for foreign citizens and stateless persons for admission to higher educational institutions. The educational process is carried out in accordance with the current program in three areas:
biomedical,
engineering,
economics.

Disciplines: ukrainian language, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, regional geography, drawing, social and economic geography, economic fundamentals, fundamentals of Computer Science and Engineering.

Employees of the department are involved in the preparation of educational and methodical literature, scientific activities, publication of articles in international, national and university scientific and methodological conferences.
Main directions of scientific activity: methods of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language, teaching methodology of natural sciences for foreign students, linguistics, literary studies, psychology.
Particular attention is paid to career-oriented work, which allows not only to increase the number of students of pre-university training, but also the number of foreigners who wish to study in NUPh .
The Department actively organizes excursions to leading departments of the university, scientific laboratories and libraries. First practice sessions on relevant departments of the university.
The educational process at the department successfully completes extracurricular educational work with foreign students: conversation, themed tours, visits to museums and theaters, hiking and evening concerts.

The staff attentively treat each individual listener, because the understanding and empathy inherent in the teachers of the department of fundamental and language training allows, in turn, to increase the number of students choosing to study at the NUPh.
